Eravikulam National Park in Idukki opens to tourists with COVID standards!
Eravikulam National Park located in idukki,Kerala has been opened to the public as part of the resumption of tourism in Idukki. Tourists will be allowed to enter the place from August 19. The national park reopens eight months after it was closed due to breeding of Nilgiri tahr (varayadu) and then to a lockdown. Now the eco-Tourism Centers including Eravikulam have been opened.
Commonly the national park, which normally closes for breeding goats, is expected to reopen in mid-April but has been delayed due to lockdowns.
Tourists will be only admitted on the basis of COVID standards. The Chief Wildlife Warden has put forward nine suggestions for visitors to Eravikulam National Park.
Visitors to the park must wear a mask, and if the body temperature exceeds the prescribed level, the entry will not be permitted and visitors are not allowed to touch or approach the Nilgiri tahr (Varayadu)
Instructions also include disinfecting vehicles before parking.
Also, there is no popular night trekking or accommodation here. In addition, officers, watchmen, drivers, and eco-shop employees who came in close contact with the garden were tested for antigens to make sure they were free of the disease. This season alone, 11 Nilgiri tahr (Varayad) babies have been born here.
